Do Dates go bad before their best by date?

Dates are a fresh fruit grown outdoors on beautiful palm trees under the hot desert sun. Like other fruits, weather, heat, and rain, along with improper storage conditions, can cause dates to spoil before their best by date. Dates naturally continue to dry once picked, so over time, dates may become dryer as they approach the best by date.

Do Dates Sugar?
Yes, dates may sugar from time to time in storage. Sugaring is a white sugary film on theoutside of the date or small white spots visible under the date’s skin. The spots are the natural crystallization of the internal sugar rising to the outer layer of the date. Sugaring does not affect the dates’ quality and can be eaten as is or wiped off with a damp cloth.
Are Dates Heart Healthy?

Yes, Pure Palm Medjool Dates meet the American Heart Association definition of Heart-Healthy. A diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart disease. Dates have zero fat, sodium, or cholesterol.
